What ages does the Encouragemint Center serve?

We serve children from 4th grade and older. We run our small groups for 4th - 8th graders, 9th - 12th graders and young adults.

Is there a Sliding Fee Scale?

We firmly believe mental health support should be accessible to all. Please contact us if you need a sliding fee to engage in our services.

Where do groups meet?

Our small groups meet in the private community room at Common Roots Cafe on 2558 Lyndale Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55405. There is a small parking lot to the north of the building, street parking and access to Metro Transit. Parents, you are welcomed to stay in the cafe and enjoy a cup of coffee while the group meets or pop across the street and enjoy a yoga class at One Yoga.

Will this really work?

Yes! The good news is that there is a lot of research around anxiety and we know that it is treatable and manageable. We have 15+ years working with youth; not only will you start to feel better, but you might make some new friends along the way.

I have social Anxiety - will the first meeting be awkward?

Don’t worry, we understand that coming to a new group can feel stressful, embarrassing and create a lot of anxiety. We design the group and our time together so that you can come in, relax and not feel self-conscious or pressured in any way. You only share when you feel comfortable and your privacy is respected.
